- Our club was
started in 2005. We have 11 PT owners on our mailing list. We
meet on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Our runs, usually, are to
one of the 1800 restaurants in Myrtle Beach. We do try to spice
things up a little by playing putt-putt, attending local car shows
and having cook-outs at the beach.
- We wanted to
become more involved in the community. We needed to find something
to do other than eat. In September, with donations from Lowe's,
we cleaned up the graffiti at one of the overpasses. The Sun News
and Channel 15 were in attendance to capture us in action. On
December 8th, we're participating in the Surfside Beach Christmas
Parade. Hopefully, we'll have pictures to post. Our club also
wants to get involved with the elderly, and not just during the
Holidays. We'll be visiting one nursing home this Christmas with
small gifts to bring a little cheer to the residents. We're also
looking into the possibility of Meals on Wheels, Soup Kitchens and
getting involved with Step-Up, a full-service
Volunteer Center, that supports non-profit organizations who want
to make a difference in their community. We're also planning
to participate in the Heart Walk and the
Memory Walk (Alzheimer's Assoc.). Both of these events
will be held next fall.
